Movesapp provides  Cloud API which is a set of developer tools that provide an open platform for accessingMovesApp data from Movesapp Fitness application. In this blog post, I will touch down what issues you can face while integrating Movesapp  API.  It’s done by using Unified gethealth.io REST API across hundred’s of devices and applications. In following steps i will touch down the steps you need while integrating movesapp API directly and then I will show how easily you can integrated the same using gethealth API.

Step 1: Register application to API consumer key and secret which allow apps to connect to the Movesapp Cloud API.

After registering you need to hit Movesapp Developer Portal is a console to configure app settings: redirecting url domain restriction, setting the subscription endpoint, resources you want to subscribe.

Step 2: Read Documentation of API

Movesapp API uses OAuth 2.0 with App Authorization for user authorization. In order to access the resource you need to use APP ID and APP secret to get auth code. By using this auth code Movesapp prompt user to authorization. The whole OAuth flow, used in Movesapp is show below.

Step 3: Find an OAuth 2.0 library for your programming language and framework to create an authorization flow.

Depending upon the programming language you use , you can find the appropriate library which supports Oauth 2.0 authentication mechanism and flow

Step 4 Generating request to get data from Movesapp Cloud API

The Moves API is the primary way to get data . It’s a low-level HTTP-based API that you can use to query data, a variety of other tasks that an app may need to do. Most API calls must be signed with an access_token.

Also in order to get the real-time notification about the user you need to subscribe to Subscription API. Also using these subscription api you always need to query Movesapp to get the latest data.

In this blog post I described the steps which you need to deal with while accessing data using Moves API and also described how simply we can use gethealth.io to get the same data while reducing all the technical effort by the developer.
